Hey everyone,

After a few years of touring with titans like Regina Spektor, Adam Green and The Strokes, it was hard to come back home. The road takes a bite out of you and never gives it back, ya see. You'll go over your friend's house to hang out and not understand why Jack Daniel's and a gaggle of broads weren't prepared for your arrival. What the hell is the meaning of this no screaming two thousand people? Do you hate me? I thought we were friends, Barack... After I faced this harsh reality I started getting back to work writing and recording the new Only Son album, which isn't done yet but almost there and sounding really cool. There's gonna be some heavy rocking and some soft rocking. Some folking and some other things. It feels good to make newness. There will be some special guestage as well....

In the meantime, I've been able to do some very fun and amazing things with my talented friends. I sang a little backup on Regina Spektor's new album, "Far" and also on "The Time of The Assassins", the awesome debut solo album by Nickel Eye (Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes). After that, Fabrizio Moretti, also of The Strokes, asked me to take his place in Little Joy, the amazing band he started with Rodrigo Amarante and Binki Shapiro. They're incredible and I'm very lucky to be in another cool band (as if Moldy Peaches wasn't enough). I'm surrounded by phenomenal people. Life is good. Lucky man.

I'll be on tour with Little Joy for June and then back home for album finishings. I can't wait to play the new songs for everyone and start the whole cycle over again. Until then, I hope you're all healthy and not broke. Because, baby, money is everything. Don't let any of these sissy love feelers tell you any different. Love can't buy you money, boss. Think about that the next time you kiss for free, hippie.

To read more illuminations like this go to the Myspace page. I'll be blogging like there's nothing wrong with blogging.

Thanks to everyone who supports Only Son!

Monetarily yours,

Jack
